Indonesia is opening up opportunities for collaboration with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to improve digital-based government services to meet the connectivity needs of more than 500 government institutions, from the central to the regional levels.
"We have to connect 500 cities/regencies and even the Jakarta government from nearly 50–70 institutions, and that's the challenge," said Communications and Digital Minister Meutya Hafid in a statement confirmed in Jakarta on Wednesday.
According to Meutya, Indonesia can learn from the UAE's experience in successfully carrying out a massive digital transformation of government.
With a population of 280 million people, Indonesia still has a gap of 50 million people who do not have access to digital services.
"So, once again, that's the challenge when migrating completely to digital services," said Meutya.
