This comes hours after a missile launched at dawn on Thursday was intercepted in the south of the country.
The drone and missile were launched the day after an Israeli attack on Sanaa and Al-Jawf Governorate (northeast) on Wednesday, which resulted in 35 deaths and 131 injuries, according to the Yemeni Houthi group.
The Houthi group attacks Israel with missiles and drones, and also targets ships linked to or heading toward it. It claims its attacks are in response to Israel's ongoing genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving 64,718 Palestinians dead, 163,859 wounded, most of them children and women, hundreds of thousands displaced, and a famine that has claimed the lives of 411 Palestinians, including 142 children.
