Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has stressed that the club must win trophies in the 2025/2026 season and must no longer simply play to avoid defeat, following his team's 2-0 victory over Athletic Club in the Champions League.
"Now we have to be honest, we have to achieve something this season. We can't hide behind excuses anymore," Henry said, as quoted by SkySports in Jakarta on Wednesday.
He emphasized that finishing second wasn't enough and that the club needed to underline their achievements by winning titles. Henry believes Arsenal's current squad is complete and strong enough to compete in all competitions.
Henry highlighted Arsenal's squad depth, which he said was almost equivalent to having two first-team squads. He mentioned several key players, such as Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka, and Gabriel Jesus, who are currently out, but said Arsenal still possess the quality to challenge for domestic and European trophies.
