In a statement on Sunday, Hussein al-Sheikh, Palestinian Vice President, considered the announcement by Canada, Australia, and Britain of their recognition of the State of Palestine "a historic day and an international victory for justice, suffering, and oppression."
Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom announced their recognition of the State of Palestine on Sunday, according to official statements issued by the countries concerned. These countries had previously confirmed their intention to recognize the State of Palestine, coinciding with the start of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Kuwait
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kuwait said it "welcomes the announcement by the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada of their recognition of the State of Palestine," considering that "this step will contribute to enhancing the chances of peace in the region and support international efforts aimed at achieving a two-state solution (Palestinian and Israeli)."
Kuwait stressed "the need for all other countries to follow the example of the three countries, which will contribute to finding a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue and achieve security, stability, and prosperity for all peoples of the region."
Sultanate of Oman
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Sultanate of Oman welcomed the new recognitions of the State of Palestine by the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia.
She considered this step "a very important development in the context of international efforts aimed at achieving a two-state solution and consolidating the foundations of security and peace in the region."
The ministry renewed the Sultanate of Oman's "call to the rest of the international community that have not yet recognized the Palestinian state to take similar steps to guarantee the Palestinian people's legitimate right to establish their independent state on the June 4, 1967, borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital."
Jordan
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jordan welcomed the announcement by the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia of their official recognition of the Palestinian state.

Gulf Cooperation Council
In a statement, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassim Al-Budaiwi, welcomed the announcement by Britain, Canada, and Australia of their official recognition of the State of Palestine, describing these positions as "courageous."
He stressed that "this step represents an important historical development toward achieving justice and international legitimacy, and embodies the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state on the June 4, 1967, borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital."
Al-Badawi called on "countries that have not yet recognized the State of Palestine to follow suit and accelerate practical steps to support the two-state solution, as it is the only option capable of ending the conflict and establishing security and stability in the Middle East."
Increased confessions
Of the 193 member states of the international organization, the number of countries recognizing the State of Palestine has risen to 152 following the three countries' recognition, since its declaration in Algiers in 1988 by the late President Yasser Arafat. Recently, 11 countries, including Malta, Luxembourg, France, Australia, Armenia, and Belgium, announced their intention to recognize the State of Palestine during the UN session.
On Monday, world leaders will gather at UN Headquarters for the high-level general debate.
This comes amid a genocide perpetrated by Israel, with US support, in Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in the deaths of 65,283 Palestinians and the injury of 166,575 others, most of them children and women, in addition to a famine that has claimed the lives of 442 Palestinians, including 147 children.
In parallel with the genocide in Gaza, the Israeli army and settlers in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, killed at least 1,042 Palestinians, injured approximately 10,160, and arrested more than 19,000, according to official Palestinian data.
