Turkish Presidency: Countries that recognize Palestine as a state are on the right side of history.

In a post on the Turkish platform "InSocial" on Sunday, Duran explained that Türkiye welcomes the decisions of Britain, Canada, and Australia to recognize Palestine as a state.

He added that countries that oppose the Israeli attacks on the innocent Palestinian people in Gaza and recognize Palestine as a state are on the right side of history.

Duran expressed his confidence that the recognition of the State of Palestine by such countries would encourage other countries to take similar steps and contribute to Palestine attaining the status it deserves on the international stage.

He stressed that Türkiye will continue to support the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital and will defend the legitimate cause of the Palestinian people at all levels.

Earlier on Sunday, Britain, Canada, and Australia announced their recognition of the State of Palestine, bringing the number of countries to have taken this step to 152 out of 193 UN member states.
