The government media office said in a statement, "The extent of the destruction and rubble resulting from the war of extermination has reached an unprecedented level in modern history, with government estimates as of mid-October 2025 indicating the presence of between 65 and 70 million tons of rubble and debris."
He added that this rubble "includes thousands of homes, facilities, and vital installations that were deliberately destroyed by the occupation, transforming the Gaza Strip into an environmentally and structurally disaster zone and hindering the delivery of aid and rescue efforts."
The statement indicated that the rubble removal process is facing significant obstacles due to Israel's prevention of the entry of machinery and heavy equipment necessary for the work, in addition to the continued closure of the crossings to essential materials and technical support teams.
The office also estimated the presence of approximately 20,000 unexploded ordnance from bombs and missiles dropped by the Israeli occupation forces, explaining that they "pose a direct threat to the lives of civilians and field workers, and require precise engineering treatment before any rubble removal operations can begin."
According to United Nations estimates, the cost of rebuilding the Gaza Strip will amount to approximately $70 billion, in light of the devastation caused by the US-backed Israeli war of extermination.
During the two-year war of extermination in Gaza, the Israeli occupation killed 67,967 Palestinians and injured 170,179 others, most of them children and women. Famine resulting from the blockade also caused the deaths of 463 people, including 157 children.
