Apple hints at MacBook launch with M5 chip

Apple has hinted that it will release a new MacBook with the M5 chip , as revealed by Apple's SVP of Global Marketing, Greg Joswiak, in a post on the X platform (formerly Twitter).

"Mmmmm... something amazing is coming," said Greg via his X account @gregjoz quoted on Wednesday.

The post also featured a short video, featuring the words "coming soon" and a silhouette of an Apple laptop.

There is also a written description that displays the word "Mmmmm", as if to suggest that the chip in the laptop is an M5 chip .

This seemingly coded post is in line with previous information conveyed by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman in his newsletter called Power On.

On Sunday (12/10), Mark Gurman said in the bulletin that Apple would likely launch three new products this week.

Gurman said some of the products Apple intends to introduce include the iPad Pro, Vision Pro, and the base model 14-inch MacBook Pro.

All three will likely receive a spec upgrade with Apple's next-generation M5 chip . He mentioned that Apple won't hold a special event to announce these products.

Instead of an event, Apple will likely announce the release of the three products through its official website and there may be short promotional videos for each product shown on YouTube.

As for the 14-inch MacBook Pro, Gurman stated that it is ready for launch. This base model will be the first MacBook Pro to be released with the M5 chip, ahead of the higher-end models, which will feature the M5 Pro or M5 Max, in early 2026.
