Barcelona are preparing to host Elche next Sunday evening at the Montjuïc stadium, as part of the 11th round of the Spanish League, amidst an injury crisis affecting the team's ranks

The Catalan newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" revealed that German coach Hansi Flick's list includes eight injured players ahead of the anticipated match.

The newspaper reported that Polish striker Robert Lewandowski is ready to return to action, while doubts remain about the readiness of Danish defender Andreas Christensen.

Reports also confirmed that Dani Olmo and goalkeeper Juan Garcia have not yet reached full fitness, despite participating in training, and it appears that Brazilian winger Rafinha is also close to recovery and a return soon.

In contrast, Pedri and Gavi, in addition to German goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, are still out of action as they continue their recovery from injuries.

Barcelona enters the match in second place in the La Liga standings with 22 points from 10 games, five points behind leaders Real Madrid.
