North Sumatra (Sumut) Governor Bobby Nasution released the 100 kilometer (100K) category cross-country runners in the Trail of The Kings-Lake Toba event by Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB) World Series.
"We just released the participants of the 100-kilometer Trail of the Kings, and this is the first time it has been held in the Lake Toba area," said Bobby after releasing the 100K runners at the Marianna Resort and Convention Tuktuk Siadong, Samosir Regency, North Sumatra, Saturday.
For the 100K category, Bobby continued, 61 runners from various countries participated, including runners from Indonesia as the host.
The Governor said that all participants appeared enthusiastic and ready to conquer various terrains to reach the finish line.
The Trail of the Kings - Lake Toba cross-country running event is organized by the UTMB World Series, showcasing the panoramic view of Lake Toba as a special attraction for participants and spectators from all over the world.
"This is certainly an important focus for us in collaborating to promote tourism in North Sumatra. Over the past few days, thousands of people have come here, both from abroad and outside the province," said Bobby.
