Car of kidnapped woman (49) found in Nieuw-Vennep, police raid Hoofddorp home

The car of the 49-year-old woman from Hoofddorp, who has been missing since Wednesday morning, has been found in Nieuw-Vennep. Police believe the woman was abducted on her way to work; she is currently still missing, according to police. A neighbor says the woman had suspected she was being watched for two days.

The black BMW 530e was found in the Getsewoud-Noord neighborhood of Nieuw-Vennep, about a ten-minute drive from her home. Since her disappearance was reported, a Major Investigation Team (TGO) has been assigned to the case. Approximately twenty officers, including detectives, are working on the case, led by a public prosecutor. For the sake of the investigation, the police will not disclose who raised the alarm. It is clear, however, that the woman left her home on Mosselplaat in Hoofddorp, where she was last seen.

Police spent hours investigating the scene on Wednesday. Neighbors saw several police vehicles in the street and only then realized something was amiss. "They asked if we'd seen anything unusual and if we had cameras," one resident said. "But we didn't notice anything. It wasn't until the street was filled with police that we knew something was wrong."

Late Wednesday afternoon, police raided a house on Oosterschelde, a side street off Mosselplaat. Footage circulating online shows officers forcibly breaking down the front door. Police confirmed the house had been searched in connection with the kidnapping, but declined to comment further.

Data obtained by the AD newspaper shows that people with the same surname as the missing woman are registered at the address where the raid took place. These people are of Indian descent. Available documentation indicates that both are from the same Indian state. Local residents say the residents of the house haven't been seen for at least a month. Police have also reportedly been seen in the street more frequently in recent weeks.

Police also conducted an investigation in Beverwijk, the police reported. The police helicopter provided support. The exact location of this investigation is unknown. However, based on the police helicopter's flight movements, it can be seen that it was circling the Parellelweg.

According to a neighbor, the woman had felt like she was being watched for two days. "She was being filmed and clearly didn't trust it," the resident told the Noordhollands Dagblad . "She also reportedly reported it to the police." A police spokesperson declined to confirm this: "That's information under investigation. We can't comment on it at this time."

According to police spokesperson Roderick de Veen, the woman's life may be in danger. "We are seriously concerned about her condition. We strongly believe she is in danger, and that's why it's crucial that we find her as quickly as possible." Police therefore shared a photo and description of the woman on Friday morning. She is 1.65 meters tall, has a light complexion, a medium build, dark brown eyes, and long dark brown hair. She was wearing dark clothing on OWednesday morning.
