President Erdoğan stressed the need to "take steps before winter arrives and rescue our brothers in Gaza from their makeshift shelters," affirming that Türkiye will do everything in its power to do so.
In this context, he explained that relief efforts for Gaza have accelerated, and trucks loaded with humanitarian aid provided by Türkiye have begun arriving in the Strip.
Regarding the ceasefire in Gaza, the Turkish president stressed the need to ensure Israel's commitment to the agreement it signed.
On Thursday, US President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Hamas had reached an agreement on the first phase of his ceasefire and prisoner exchange plan, following indirect negotiations between the two sides in Sharm el-Sheikh, with the participation of Turkey, Egypt, and Qatar, and under US supervision.
On the international level, President Erdoğan noted that the region is experiencing historical rifts, continuing: "Our geographical environment is experiencing historical rifts, and just as it was a century ago, the new world order is being shaped today by events centered around our region."
He noted that the war between Russia and Ukraine is approaching its fourth year, and that it has resulted in tens of thousands of deaths, injuries, and missing persons on both sides. He explained that efforts to end the war have not yet achieved the desired results.
The Turkish president continued, "This bloody war, which escalates from time to time, is worrying our region and the entire world, and we in Turkey are pursuing a balanced and just policy in this regard." He noted that Turkey is continuing its contacts with Russia and Ukraine with the aim of ending the conflict and establishing peace.
Black Sea Security
President Erdoğan emphasized that Ankara attaches great importance to protecting the security of the Black Sea and protecting it from risks, and that it has succeeded in doing so to date. He noted that there have been no disruptions to navigational security in the Black Sea, and that citizens who make a living from the sea's bounty have not encountered any problems in their work.
He expressed Türkiye's hope that the war between Russia and Ukraine would end as soon as possible, because the winning party is also the "blood merchants," as is the case in every war.
He continued, "While the wealth of the war barons swells, we find that the losers are the people, the ordinary citizens, and the region is paying the price." He added, "We are prepared to do whatever is within our power to find a solution to this crisis."
Since February 24, 2022, Russia has launched a military offensive against its neighbor Ukraine, demanding that Kyiv abandon its membership in Western military entities as a condition for ending the offensive. Kyiv considers this to be "interference" in its affairs.
