Families of Israeli prisoners accuse the occupation of killing their sons while they were held by Hamas.

Nimrodi's family said in a statement: "We received the difficult news that Tamir's body has been identified. He was killed in Hamas captivity." The Israeli military explained that it was estimated that he was killed early in the war, noting that the final cause of death would be determined after the completion of the forensic examination.

Hamas handed over Nimrodi's body to Tel Aviv on Tuesday evening, along with a batch of eight Israeli bodies, after releasing 20 living Israeli prisoners. The movement said it needed more time to retrieve the bodies of the remaining Israeli prisoners.

These developments come as Israel released 250 Palestinian prisoners serving life sentences, in addition to 1,718 others it had arrested since the start of the war on the Gaza Strip on October 8, 2023.

Hamas once again emphasized that the indiscriminate Israeli bombing threatens the lives of prisoners, warning of the danger posed by continued military operations to their lives.

More than 10,000 Palestinian prisoners, including women and children, remain languishing in Israeli prisons, suffering torture, starvation, and medical neglect. Many of these prisoners have been killed, according to Palestinian and Israeli human rights and media reports.

With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza for two years since October 8, 2023, leaving 67,913 martyrs and 170,134 wounded, most of them children and women, and causing a famine that claimed the lives of 463 Palestinians, including 157 children.
