Ferrari Formula 1 Team Principal Frederic Vasseur said his team was generally satisfied with the performance of its two drivers at the 2025 Mexican GP at the Hermanos Rodríguez Circuit, October 24-26.
"We achieved maximum results that week. We showed good pace and weren't too far behind in the championship," Vasseur said, as quoted on the official Formula 1 website in Jakarta on Wednesday.
In the 2025 Mexican GP race series, two Ferrari drivers, Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, initially started from second and third positions.
During the race, Leclerc was able to finish in second place, while Hamilton was in eighth place.
One of Hamilton's obstacles in the race was not a technical issue but because he was sanctioned a 10-second penalty for being deemed to have committed a violation at turn four.
At the time, the British driver attempted to overtake Max Verstappen (Red Bull), but went off the track. This was deemed wrong by the committee, as Hamilton subsequently moved ahead of Verstappen, meaning Hamilton had taken a lane outside the race track, which was advantageous to him.
Vesseur also regretted the punishment that befell Lewis Hamilton because according to him, similar incidents rarely result in sanctions.
