Salah and Hakimi among nominees: FIFPro unveils list of the best 26 players for 2025

The list included international stars such as Argentina's Lionel Messi, Egypt's Mohamed Salah, Morocco's Achraf Hakimi, France's Ousmane Dembélé, Spain's Lamine Jamal, Brazil's Raphinha, and Uruguayan Federico Valverde.

The list includes seven players from Paris Saint-Germain, including Hakimi and Dembélé, five Real Madrid players including Thibaut Courtois, Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappé, and Valverde, and four Barcelona players including Pedri, Jamal, and Raphinha.

Cristiano Ronaldo was also among the nominees.

FIFPro's selection of the Team of the Year is unique, as it is determined exclusively by votes from professional footballers, with the participation of approximately 20,000 players.

The committee required that nominated players have participated in at least 30 official matches between July 15 and August 3, 2025.

The final lineup will be announced on November 3 and will include a goalkeeper, three defenders, three midfielders, three forwards, and the player with the highest number of votes, regardless of position.

Goalkeepers: Alisson Becker (Liverpool), Thibaut Courtois (Real Madrid), Gianluigi Donnarumma (Paris Saint-Germain – Manchester City).

Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Pau Coparsi, Virgil van Dijk, Achraf Hakimi, Marquinhos, Nuno Mendes, William Saliba.

Midfielders: Jude Bellingham, Kevin De Bruyne, Luka Modrić, Joao Neves, Cole Palmer, Pedri, Federico Valverde, Vitinha.

Forwards: Ousmane Dembélé, Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappé, Lionel Messi, Raphinha, Cristiano Ronaldo, Mohamed

 Salah, Lamine Jamal.
