The UK Competition and Business Authority (CMA) is monitoring Google because its search engine , Search, is deemed too dominant and has designated the technology company as having "strategic market status."
This determination was given because Google is considered to have a large and entrenched market power in the field of digital search and advertising, reported the Darlington and Stockton Times, Friday (10/10).
Google controls more than 90 percent of the search engine market share in the UK and more than 200,000 businesses use the platform to reach customers.
