Hamas: The war in Gaza is over and the ceasefire agreement is proceeding as planned.

Al-Hayya, head of the Hamas negotiating delegation, explained in an interview with the Egyptian Al-Qahira News Channel that the movement is committed to the ceasefire agreement and what was reached with the other Palestinian factions, stressing: "We are fully confident and determined to implement the agreement fully."

He pointed out that the Sharm el-Sheikh peace summit, attended by the US President and leaders of more than 20 countries, "clearly confirmed that the war is over," adding that what Hamas heard from the mediators "gives it reassurance about the next phase."

The Israeli government approved a ceasefire agreement with Hamas at dawn on October 10, in accordance with the Trump plan, which includes a gradual withdrawal of the Israeli occupation army, a prisoner exchange, and the entry of aid into the Gaza Strip.

Regarding the prisoners' file, Al-Hayya said the movement is "serious about exhuming the bodies of all Israeli detainees," but is facing significant difficulties on the ground, stressing the continuation of efforts in this direction.

On Monday evening, Israel announced that it had received the body of a new prisoner from the Red Cross, bringing the total number of remains it has received from Hamas to 14. This is in addition to the release of 20 living Israeli prisoners since the agreement began.

In contrast, Israel says that 15 prisoners are still being held, noting that one of the bodies received does not match its data.

Al-Hayya also called for increased humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, noting that current quantities are "limited and insufficient to meet the needs of the population."

On Tuesday morning, the government media office in Gaza announced that only 986 aid trucks had entered the Strip since the ceasefire took effect, out of the 6,600 trucks expected to enter by Monday evening, according to the agreement.

The agreement ended a genocidal war launched by Israel with US support on October 8, 2023, which left 68,216 dead and 170,361 injured, most of them children and women, and destroyed 90 percent of the civilian infrastructure in the Gaza Strip.
