Israel likely to open Rafah crossing next Sunday as part of the ceasefire agreement.

The Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth quoted Sa'ar as saying that "preparations are underway in the next few days" to open the crossing, without providing further details about the implementation mechanism or the parties involved in the coordination.

The Rafah crossing was scheduled to open last Wednesday as part of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement that went into effect last Friday.

Despite the ceasefire agreement, the hunger crisis in the Gaza Strip continues due to the decades-long Israeli blockade, which intensified after October 7, deepening the suffering of the population.

With American support, Israel began a genocide in Gaza two years ago, leaving 67,967 martyrs and 170,179 wounded, most of them children and women, and a famine that claimed the lives of 463 Palestinians, including 157 children.
