The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi) emphasized that security in the e-commerce ecosystem is a shared responsibility of all parties, from the government, digital industry players, the media, to the wider public.
"The responsibility of a digital platform lies not only with the platform itself, but also with the government, as well as with the public and the media, who must help build its ecosystem to prevent online fraud ," said Rizki Ameliah, Head of the Center for Digital Literacy Development at the Komdigi Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM), in Jakarta on Wednesday.
On that occasion, Komdigi commended an Indonesian e-commerce platform for recently releasing a guidebook for its consumers to help them avoid online fraud, particularly on e-commerce platforms. According to Rizki, this is the platform's responsibility to protect consumers from online fraud and data protection.
"We don't just support one or two digital platforms, but the entire e-commerce ecosystem, because we fundamentally want to work together to protect e-commerce platforms from online fraud, even from personal data breaches and other forms of fraud," he said.
