The third day of the final session of the Gaza Tribunal concluded on Saturday in the conference hall of Istanbul University, chaired by former UN Special Rapporteur on Palestine Richard Falk. The tribunal is scheduled to issue its ruling on Sunday.
Representatives of Witness Eye, an independent platform founded by journalists to digitally archive the testimonies of Palestinians in Gaza, emphasized the importance of preserving evidence, explaining that they have collected more than 100 testimonies, evidence, and digital videos over the past two years.
The representative of the Turkish Association for Human Rights and Solidarity with the Oppressed also stressed the importance of documenting events through field testimonies.
For its part, the International Federation of Jurists submitted 13 detailed reports to the court, compiled over 700 days, addressing Israeli crimes against civilians, journalists, and institutions in the Gaza Strip.
A spokesperson for the union said, "We have at least 250 crimes committed by the occupation forces against journalists, with documented details for each case, in addition to reports on crimes against civilians." He emphasized that "what is happening constitutes war crimes and crimes against humanity, and the responsibility falls on the entire international community."
The Gaza Tribunal is an independent international initiative founded in London in November 2024 by academics, intellectuals, human rights defenders, and representatives of civil society organizations, citing the "international community's complete failure to implement international law in the Gaza Strip."
Academics, human rights defenders, media representatives, and civil society organizations are participating in the "Gaza Court" to present their testimonies regarding the genocide in the Strip.
This genocide, which began on October 8, 2023, with US support, and continued for two years, left 68,519 martyrs and 170,382 wounded, most of them children and women, and caused the destruction of 90 percent of the civilian infrastructure.
