LIVE Formula 1 | Verstappen gets into the swing of things in the final phase and sets the fastest time, Lawson crashes into the wall again
After an excellent first day, with a third-fastest time in the first practice session and the same result in the second session, Max Verstappen hopes to continue his upward trend today, starting with the third free practice session. The lights go green in Singapore at 11:30 AM. Follow the action in our live blog below.
Neither McLaren has yet matched Verstappen's time. A second run on the soft tires doesn't seem to be working.
Yes indeed, an excellent time for Verstappen, who is more than a tenth faster than Norris. Russell also joins him, only half a tenth slower than Verstappen.
To P1 and he is almost three-tenths faster than Piastri, who can't get close to his teammate.
The Monegasque is a tenth faster than Antonelli. Everyone's now out on track. Who's the fastest of them all?
He improves slightly on the medium tires and then comes into the pits. Almost everyone does that now. That means only one thing: the qualifying simulations on the soft tires are coming up soon!
He complains over the radio that he keeps losing his rear end. That seems to be a balance problem.
The young Italian is one of the first to do a qualifying simulation and dives 2.5 tenths under Norris' time on the soft tyre.
Putting in the miles, putting in the miles, putting in the miles. So-called long runs to see how the car will perform during the race. Most drivers are working on that right now.
His first lap isn't bad. On the medium tires, Verstappen moves up to fourth place, half a second behind Norris. It looks like the Dutchman has plenty of fuel in his car.
And it's immediately very busy on the track. What can Verstappen do?
Just like yesterday, Lawson is off the track again. What a dramatic weekend so far for the New Zealander.
A great lap from the Brit, who moves back up to P1 by almost a second under Sainz's time. It's still a matter of time before Verstappen gets his first meters.
The Spaniard, on soft tires, is four-tenths faster than Norris, who is running on medium tires. Williams teammate Albon is also on soft tires and moves up to P2.
The two McLaren drivers already had a good pace and immediately set the first and second fastest times.
Piastri, Norris, Hadjar, Ocon, Tsunoda, Lawson, Bortoleto, and Colapinto will also be out on track immediately. Because yesterday's second practice session was stopped for a significant period due to red flags, some drivers are now looking to make up for that testing time.
