Meta prepares features to monitor teen interactions with AI

Meta has announced a preview of its latest parental control feature aimed at monitoring teenage users' conversations with artificial intelligence (AI)-based characters on its platform.

As reported by Tech Crunch on Saturday, the feature will begin rolling out next year, allowing the option to block certain characters and monitor conversation topics.

In the coming months, parents will have the ability to mute their child's entire conversation with AI characters. However, this will not block access to Meta AI, the company's primary AI chatbot. Meta AI will only serve age-appropriate content.

Additionally, parents can disable conversations with specific AI characters for more selective oversight. They will also receive information about topics discussed by teen users with AI characters and MetaAI.
