Minister of Communication and Digital (Menkomdigi) Meutya Hafid stated that Indonesia's data center capacity has increased by 52 percent in less than a year of President Prabowo Subianto's administration.
The total national data center capacity at the start of President Prabowo's administration, in October 2024, was 190 MW. This figure increased to 290 MW by June 2025.
"In less than a year, (data center) capacity increased by more than 52 percent, so in one year of President Prabowo's administration, the increase was 52 percent, from 190 MW to 290 MW," said Meutya at the FEKDI x IFSE 2025 event in Central Jakarta on Thursday.
He believes this increase demonstrates the high level of confidence global technology companies have in investing in data center development in Indonesia.
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, said Meutya, has announced that 12 companies from the United States are building data center ecosystems in Indonesia.
"In just one year, the Minister of Communication and Digital Technology was invited to inaugurate several (data centers), including those belonging to Microsoft, Google, Equinix, Amazon Web Services, and also a local player who is also quite proud and quite large, namely PT DCI Indonesia," said Meutya.
