The office said in a statement that "the number of child martyrs exceeded 20,000, of whom more than 19,450 children arrived at hospitals, while the number of female martyrs exceeded 12,500, of whom approximately 10,160 arrived at hospitals."
On September 29, Ramiz Alakparov, the UN Deputy Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, criticized the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, asserting that the humanitarian situation there was "morally, politically, and legally unacceptable."
During a Security Council session, Alakparov noted that the escalation of Israeli military operations "is bringing unprecedented levels of death and destruction to the Palestinians," condemning the killing of civilians, including women and children.
The government office explained that the total number of martyrs who arrived at hospitals since the beginning of the war has reached 67,139 Palestinians, adding that "the occupation army has caused comprehensive destruction in approximately 90 percent of the Gaza Strip's areas, and has controlled more than 80 percent of Gaza's area through invasion, fire, and displacement, using more than 200,000 tons of explosives since the beginning of its aggression."
The statement indicated that 1,670 medical personnel, 140 civil defense personnel, and 254 journalists were killed as a result of Israeli bombing, in addition to 12,000 miscarriages among pregnant women due to lack of food and healthcare.
He explained that the Israeli occupation army systematically targeted the health sector, bombing or destroying 38 hospitals and 96 healthcare centers, putting them out of service, in addition to destroying or targeting 197 ambulances.
The statement noted that the Israeli occupation completely destroyed 835 mosques and partially destroyed 180, targeted three churches more than once, destroyed 40 of the 60 cemeteries, and stole more than 2,450 bodies of the dead and martyrs.
Regarding infrastructure and housing, the government office stated that the Israeli occupation army completely destroyed approximately 268,000 housing units, severely destroyed 148,000 (making them uninhabitable), and partially destroyed 153,000, displacing more than 288,000 Palestinian families.
He explained that 125,000 of the 135,000 tents in Gaza are now unfit for habitation due to deterioration, noting that approximately two million Palestinians have been forcibly displaced since the start of the war, while the Israeli occupation army has targeted 293 shelters and displacement centers within the Gaza Strip.
Earlier on Sunday, a report by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) stated that the people of Gaza have been living through the ongoing tragedy of forced displacement for two years, trapped in ever-shrinking areas. More than 82 percent of the Strip is now either within the Israeli military zone, subject to displacement orders, or both. The report emphasized that "there is no safe place in Gaza."
Since October 7, 2023, the occupying army, with American support, has been committing genocide in Gaza, leaving 67,139 martyrs and 169,583 wounded, most of them children and women, and a famine that has claimed the lives of 460 Palestinians, including 154 children.
