Palestinian talks conclude in Cairo, with an agreement to hand over Gaza administration to a technocratic committee.

In a joint statement published by Hamas on its Telegram channel, the factions said, "During the meeting held on Thursday, it was also agreed to call for an urgent national meeting, with the participation of all forces and factions, to discuss a comprehensive national strategy and activate the role of the Palestine Liberation Organization as the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people."

The statement added, "The attendees agreed to support and continue implementing the ceasefire agreement measures, including the withdrawal of occupation forces from the Gaza Strip, the complete lifting of the blockade imposed on it, the opening of all crossings, including the Rafah crossing, the entry of all humanitarian and health needs, and the initiation of a comprehensive reconstruction process that will restore normal life to the Gaza Strip and end the suffering of its citizens."

He pointed out that an agreement was reached to hand over the administration of the Gaza Strip to a temporary Palestinian committee composed of independent "technocrats" from the Strip. This committee will manage basic life and services in cooperation with Arab partners and international institutions, based on transparency and national accountability. An international committee will also be established to oversee the funding and implementation of the Gaza Strip's reconstruction, while emphasizing the unity of the Palestinian political system and independent national decision-making.

He stressed the need to take all necessary measures to maintain security and stability throughout the Gaza Strip, emphasizing the importance of issuing a UN resolution regarding the temporary UN force to be formed to monitor the ceasefire.

He called for an end to "all forms of torture and violations against prisoners in occupation prisons, and the need to compel the occupation to abide by relevant international laws and conventions," noting that "the issue of prisoners will remain at the top of our priorities until they are freed."

According to the statement, the participants concluded their dialogue by emphasizing that "time is blood, and the current moment is fateful." They affirmed before the Palestinian people that this meeting will be a true turning point toward national unity in defense of our people and their right to life, dignity, and freedom, and in safeguarding the trust of the Palestinian cause and the rights of future generations, as well as their right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital, ensuring the right of return for Palestinian refugees.
