Pelita Jaya Basketball has retained Jerome Anthony Beane Jr. until the 2026 season amid the implementation of new IBL rules governing the number of foreign and heritage players, including the salary cap for foreign players.
The decision to retain Beane came after Pelita Jaya had already appointed David Singleton as head coach and extended Hendrick Xavi Yonga's contract.
With this composition, Pelita Jaya began to reorganize their roster to face a season with stricter financial regulations.
According to data from the official IBL website, Beane has been a key part of Pelita Jaya since the 2024 season, which ended with him winning the IBL title and being named Finals MVP.
In 18 games in the 2024 regular season, the naturalized Indonesian national team player averaged 13.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game.
Beane was consistent in the 2025 season, averaging 13.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 5.2 assists in 19 games.
He helped Pelita Jaya top the 2025 IBL standings with an impressive record of 23 wins and only three losses before failing to defend the title, which was won by Dewa United Banten.
With Beane's contract extension, Pelita Jaya has used one of the three foreign player quota slots allowed for the 2026 season.
