Qatar condemns Israeli violations, Macron speaks of a UN resolution on Gaza administration

During the opening of the new session of the Qatari Shura Council in the capital, Doha, Tamim said, "We reaffirm here our condemnation of all Israeli violations and practices in Palestine, particularly the transformation of the Gaza Strip into an area uninhabitable for human life and the violations of the ceasefire agreement."

The Emir of Qatar added that the Gaza Strip is an integral part of the unified State of Palestine. He continued, "We agree in this position with what is now being adopted by international public opinion and peace-loving forces worldwide."

Regarding domestic affairs, the Emir of Qatar said that his country had been subjected to two "condemned and reprehensible" violations of its sovereignty, the first by Iran and the other by Israel. He added, "The entire world condemned the two attacks, and Qatar emerged stronger and more resilient."

Meanwhile, French President Emmanuel Macron revealed on Tuesday that Paris is seeking a UN Security Council resolution on the administration and security of Gaza.

"We are working to ensure that the UN Security Council issues a resolution as soon as possible, establishing an international framework for governance and security (in Gaza)," Macron said during a joint press conference with Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golube in the Slovenian capital, Ljubljana.

Commenting on the ceasefire in Gaza, Macron added, "We know that the situation in Gaza remains very fragile," stressing the need to continue pressure for the full implementation of the ceasefire agreement. He expressed his desire to continue efforts to open the humanitarian aid crossings in Gaza.

On October 10, a ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel went into effect. This agreement is based on US President Donald Trump's plan, which, in addition to ending the war, calls for a gradual withdrawal of the Israeli occupation army, a mutual release of prisoners, and the immediate entry of aid into the Gaza Strip.

The second phase of Trump's plan includes the deployment of an international peacekeeping force in the Gaza Strip, the withdrawal of the Israeli occupation army, the disarmament of Hamas, and the establishment of a temporary administrative body affiliated with the new international transitional body in Gaza called the "Peace Council," headed by Trump.

This agreement came after a genocidal war waged by Israel starting on October 7, 2023, which lasted two years and resulted in the martyrdom of 68,216 Palestinians and the injury of 170,361 others.
