Run with the Bunch (RWTB), a five-kilometer (5K) charity fun run that combines the spirit of sport and social awareness, will be held on November 16 in the CFD area of Ratu Plaza, Central Jakarta.
This collaborative running event, organized by Salam Setara, Sekolah Murid Merdeka, SalingJaga, and Kitabisa, features three categories: individual, group (family), and couple (couple). Organizers are targeting over 1,000 participants from running communities, families, and the general public who want to run and share.
In a press conference at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium Complex, Jakarta, Wednesday, Ahmad Mujahid as Executive Director of Salam Setara said that his party invited the public to participate in RWTB to realize the hope that education can be accessed by everyone.
"We believe that education is a socioeconomic escalator for individuals. Salam Setara wants to invite various parties to participate in realizing the hope that higher education will be accessible to everyone, especially those from underprivileged families," said Mujahid in an official statement.
RWTB was motivated by concerns that higher education in Indonesia is not yet fully equitable. According to 2024 Statistics Indonesia (BPS) data, the national college participation rate (APK) only reached 32 percent, meaning only three out of ten high school students are able to continue their education. This situation demonstrates that many high-achieving young people are still hampered by economic constraints.
This run offers a social experience with a school-like feel, with various activities including medals awarded by the BISA Squad (BISA Project scholarship recipients) to the fastest runners, a quiz competition, and a nostalgic snack booth. There's also a book donation area for schools, reading parks, and orphanages.
