Siblings from West Kalimantan, I Ageng Rizki Ariani (23) and Rasikah Restu F (20), performed brilliantly by presenting a gold medal for the West Kalimantan contingent in the martial arts sport at the 2025 Kudus National Martial Arts Games, Thursday.
The first gold medal for the West Kalimantan (Kalbar) contingent was won by Rasikah Restu F, who competed in the women's 50.1–54 kilogram (kg) fighting class after defeating I Gusti Ayu Putu of Bali in the final on Thursday morning (10/16). This victory marked a sweet opening for the West Kalimantan fighting team at the 2025 Kudus National Martial Arts Games.
Meanwhile, in the afternoon match, her older sister, I Ageng Rizki Ariani, added to West Kalimantan's pride after successfully defeating Vebi Sesmita Husna from West Sumatra in the women's 62.1-66 kg fighting class, thus ensuring the province's second gold medal.
"Thank God, we were both able to contribute gold medals for West Kalimantan. From the start, we had targeted winning gold medals in the same sport, albeit in different weight classes," said I Ageng Rizki Ariani after the medal ceremony at the Djarum Arena Kaliputu, Kudus, on Thursday.
Ageng admitted he was nervous about the final, especially since he had previously met his opponent in the 2023 National Sports Week (PON) pre-season. However, thanks to nearly three months of intensive training and the support of his coach and family, he managed to perform at his best.
