Jannik Sinner successfully defeated Carlos Alcaraz in the final round of the Six Kings Slam exhibition tournament to defend his title in Riyadh.
Italian Sinner defeated Alcaraz 6-2, 6-4 in a match that lasted one hour and 13 minutes. They last met in competitive action in the US Open final earlier this month, which the Spaniard won.
"What a great week. Loved playing here, the atmosphere was amazing, and it's always a pleasure sharing the court with you, @carlitosalcarazz. Thanks for all the support," Sinner said in a social media post on Sunday, tagging Alcaraz's account.
Sinner had no double faults -- compared to Alcaraz's three -- with his serve being his primary weapon. However, Alcaraz also put in a strong performance, hitting four aces and saving seven of ten break point opportunities.
Last year, Sinner won the inaugural Six Kings Slam title as well after defeating Alcaraz in a tight final 6-7, 6-3, 6-3.
"Congratulations @janniksin and team! Great final and great level! Thank you Riyadh for the support and for welcoming us with so much love again! Can't wait to come back!" Alcaraz wrote on his social media accounts, mentioning Sinner.
The Singing Kings Slam features six of the world's greatest tennis players. In addition to Sinner and Alcaraz, the event, which will air live exclusively on Netflix, also features Novak Djokovic, Taylor Fritz, Alexander Zverev, and Stefanos Tsitsipas.
In the quarterfinals on Wednesday (October 15), Fritz defeated Zverev 6-3, 6-4, to set up a match against Alcaraz. Meanwhile, Sinner defeated Tsitsipas 6-2, 6-3.
In the semifinals, Sinner defeated Djokovic 6-4, 6-2, while Alcaraz defeated Fritz 6-4, 6-2.
Djokovic and Fritz met for third place on Saturday (18/10), but the 38-year-old Serb retired from the match after trailing in the first set 6-7(7).
