The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Kemkomdigi) received a score of 90.91, or "Very Satisfactory" in the archives management assessment conducted by the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia (ANRI) in 2024.
This achievement is the result of the systematic work of the ministry's apparatus in building neat, secure, and easily accessible digital archives as a foundation for data-driven and transparent governance.
"Archives are not just documents, but the nation's collective memory. When archiving is done well, we are ready to be open and subject to public scrutiny," said Secretary General of the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, Ismail, as quoted in a ministry press release in Jakarta on Tuesday.
He stated that archive management is no longer merely an administrative matter, but part of the government's digital transformation strategy.
"We support the implementation of an integrated digital archiving system so that every piece of data and document can serve as the basis for formulating faster, more accurate, and more accountable policies," he said.
ANRI's 2024 archival management oversight covers 85 ministries and institutions, five state universities, 34 provincial governments, and 424 district/city governments.
The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, which at the time of the assessment was still called the Ministry of Communication and Information, was included in the ranks of ministries with the highest scores and very satisfactory results based on the results of the supervision.
"This is a shared success. We appreciate the hard work of all work units and the support from ANRI in the coaching and assessment process," said Ismail.
"This award will motivate us to continue organizing archives and innovating in information and data management," he added.
The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs is preparing further innovations to integrate digital archives across work units to streamline public service delivery and strengthen the national data ecosystem.
