Minister of Communication and Digital (Menkomdigi) Meutya Hafid said that the 2025 Indonesia Game Developer Exchange (IGDX) game developer meeting is a strategic platform for national game industry players to network and build collaborations.
"IGDX 2025 is a strategic platform where Indonesian game developers can meet with publishers, investors, distributors, and global media to turn dialogue into collaboration and opportunities," said Meutya in her remarks at the IGDX 2025 event in Badung, Bali, on Saturday.
Meutya assessed that the Indonesian gaming industry has grown rapidly, as evidenced by market expansion, contributions to job creation, and technological innovation among gaming industry players.
He also stated that Indonesia's gaming ecosystem is ranked among the top four in the world, with 154 million players, representing 40 percent of the total number of gamers in Southeast Asia.
With over 2,100 active game developers and publishers, the gaming industry contributes Rp71 trillion or 0.34 percent to the gross domestic product annually.
