The occupation army said in a statement that "Major Yaniv Kula (26 years old) from the settlement of Modi'in, a company commander in the 932nd Battalion of the Nahal Brigade, and soldier Itai Yafetz (21 years old) from the same settlement, a fighter in the Erez program within the same battalion, were killed during the battles in the southern Gaza Strip."
The statement indicated that a third soldier was seriously injured in the same fighting, adding that the families of the two dead had been officially notified.
Israeli Army Radio reported that the two were killed during clashes in the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, which Israel claims witnessed a "Hamas violation of the ceasefire ."
Following this, the Israeli occupation army launched several waves of airstrikes across the Gaza Strip since Sunday morning, resulting in the deaths of a number of Palestinians, according to medical sources.
Hamas, in contrast, denied committing any violations, stressing in a statement that it adheres to the ceasefire agreement and is working to implement its provisions "with utmost precision and responsibility." It emphasized that the Israeli occupation army continues to commit violations of the agreement, which have resulted in the martyrdom of 46 Palestinians and the injury of 132 others since it entered into force on October 10. It also failed to commit to the entry of aid, the withdrawal zones, and the release of female and child prisoners.
During the two-year war on the Gaza Strip, 918 Israeli soldiers were killed and 6,333 others were injured, according to data from the Israeli military on its website.
Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation army announced Sunday evening that it had resumed implementing a ceasefire in Gaza, following a series of large-scale attacks in the Strip that left dozens dead and wounded.
The Israeli occupation army said in a statement: "In accordance with directives from the political echelon, and following a series of major attacks, the army has begun re-implementing the ceasefire after Hamas violated it," it claimed.
For its part, the Government Media Office in Gaza reported that the occupation army had committed 80 violations since the ceasefire decision on Gaza, resulting in 97 martyrs and 230 wounded, including 21 violations on Sunday, "in a blatant and clear violation of the ceasefire decision and the rules of international humanitarian law.
The office noted in a statement that "the violations varied between direct shooting of civilians, deliberate shelling and targeting, the use of fire belts, and the arrest of a number of civilians, practices that reflect the occupation's continued aggressive approach, its clear desire for escalation on the ground, and its constant thirst for blood and killing."
He continued, "These violations were observed in all Gaza governorates without exception, confirming that the occupation has not committed to halting its aggression and is continuing its policy of killing and terrorizing our Palestinian people."
The ceasefire agreement is based on US President Donald Trump's plan, which, in addition to halting the war, calls for the release of Israeli prisoners in Gaza, a ceasefire, the disarmament of Hamas, and the entry of aid into the Strip.
Since October 8, 2023, the occupying army, with American support, has been committing genocide in Gaza. This ceased under a US-sponsored agreement two years later. However, the agreement was quickly violated and the war resumed, claiming that armed activity had been detected in the southern Gaza Strip.
The war left 68,159 dead and 170,203 injured, most of them children and women, and destroyed 90 percent of the civilian infrastructure in the Gaza Strip.
