Palestine TV reported that "a large force of the occupation army stormed the city of Tubas," and also published video clips of the raid.
Later, the same source announced "the arrival of additional reinforcements, accompanied by two bulldozers, and the launch of a military operation in the city of Tubas," without providing any immediate details on the results of the raid.
Earlier on Saturday, the Israeli occupation army reported that two soldiers were moderately injured by an explosive device during a military operation in the city of Tubas.
"A short time ago, during an offensive activity by IDF forces in Tubas within the Menashe Brigade, a terrorist threw an explosive device at the force," he said in a statement.
He continued, "As a result of the IED explosion, two fighters sustained moderate injuries and were transferred to the hospital for medical treatment," noting that army forces "continue their operations in the area."
For its part, Hamas said in a press release, "The operation, which directly targeted an Israeli infantry force with a homemade explosive device, wounding a number of them, is confirmation that the resistance in the West Bank will not be broken or subdued despite all the occupation's attempts to neutralize it through repression, arrests, security measures, and the deployment of checkpoints."
The movement affirmed that "the will of our people is stronger than all tools of oppression, and will not be broken by policies of brutality and terrorism. Our people have the legitimate right to respond to the escalating crimes of the occupation, and to its systematic killing, genocide, displacement, Judaization, and settlement expansion in the West Bank, Gaza, and Jerusalem."
She saluted the heroes of the resistance "who are steadfast in the field despite all the difficulties," stressing that the continuation of these operations "is a sincere expression of our people's anger and rejection of the occupation, its colonial practices, and its plans for annexation, displacement, and the liquidation of our cause."
She called on the Palestinian masses to adhere to their unity and steadfastness, and to rally around the option of resistance in all its forms, until the occupation ends and freedom and legitimate rights are achieved.
Since the start of the war of extermination on the Gaza Strip on October 8, 2023, 916 Israeli soldiers have been killed and 6,333 others wounded in Gaza and the West Bank, according to data from the occupation army on its website.
Amid tight military censorship of Israeli media, the occupation army faces accusations of concealing a larger toll of its losses in order to preserve the morale of its personnel.
