Twitch Chief Executive Dan Clancy has publicly apologized for the attack on popular streamer Emiru by a fan at a meet-and-greet event at the Twitch Convention (TwitchCon).
"We mishandled our communications regarding the incident, including my previous comments. I apologize to Emiru for everything that happened," Clancy said, as reported by PCGamer, Sunday.
Clancy added that he would further enhance security going forward. Clancy regretted his previous remarks in an interview with Taylor Lorenz released on October 19, 2025. He stated that creator safety was a "top priority," but also noted that security challenges exist across the community and are not limited to Twitch.
He also said streamers can block people they don't want, because they have control within the community to ensure people they don't want to interact and participate with them aren't there.
