"Unprecedented attack": Occupation forces kill an employee inside a municipality building in southern Lebanon

The Lebanese News Agency reported: "In a serious and unprecedented attack, an Israeli enemy force infiltrated the town of Blida at approximately 1:30 a.m. (23:30 GMT)."

She added that they had advanced "to a distance of more than a thousand meters from the border, supported by military vehicles and ATVs," which are off-road vehicles.

"The force stormed the Blida municipality building where municipal employee Ibrahim Salama was staying, and the enemy soldiers proceeded to kill him," according to the agency.

She added that during the operation, "residents reported hearing screams and cries for help coming from the building, while the incursion continued until 4:00 AM (2:00 AM GMT), before the attacking force withdrew."

Following the Israeli withdrawal, "the Lebanese army entered the building, and the body of the martyr Salameh was transported to the hospital with the assistance of the Lebanese Civil Defense," according to the agency.

In the same context, Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam condemned the killing of the employee inside the municipality building by the occupation forces, considering it an attack on state institutions and sovereignty.

Salam said in a statement that "targeting an employee of the Blida municipality while performing his duty constitutes a serious and blatant violation of Lebanese state institutions and sovereignty."

He stated that the government "continues to exert pressure with the United Nations and the countries sponsoring the cessation of hostilities agreement, to ensure the cessation of repeated violations and the implementation of a full Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory."

Israel killed more than 4,000 people and injured about 17,000 during its aggression against Lebanon, which began in October 2023 and turned into a full-scale war in September 2024.

It also violated the ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah, which has been in effect since last November, more than 4,500 times, resulting in hundreds of deaths and injuries.

Israel is defying the agreement by continuing its occupation of five Lebanese hills in the south that it seized in the last war, in addition to other Lebanese areas it has occupied for decades.
