The number of daily active users of the Meta AI app for iOS and Android has increased significantly in the past month.
According to the latest analysis from market research firm Similarweb, as reported by Tech Crunch on Tuesday, the app's daily active users surged to 2.7 million as of October 17, 2025, up from around 775,000 users in the previous four weeks.
In addition to the increase in active users, the number of downloads of the Meta AI app has also increased rapidly. The app now records around 300,000 new downloads per day, up from less than 200,000 daily downloads a few weeks ago.
Similarweb said it found no direct correlation between the spike and search or advertising activity, but did not rule out the possibility that Meta leveraged promotions on its internal platforms like Facebook and Instagram that were not captured by the company's analytics models.
