West Bank: Two injured in Jerusalem and eight in Nablus after an Israeli special forces raid

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said in two separate statements that its crews transported to the hospital "a young man injured by live bullets in the foot in the Qalandia area" and "an injured man with live bullets in the thighs in the al-Ram area."

For its part, the official Palestinian news agency, WAFA, reported that "a number of residents suffered from suffocation after Israeli occupation forces fired tear gas canisters at homes near the apartheid wall in the village of Qalandia, north of occupied Jerusalem, on Wednesday evening."

She added: "Occupation soldiers stationed near the wall fired a barrage of toxic tear gas canisters at citizens' homes, causing a number of residents to suffer from suffocation and were treated in the field."

In a related development, eight Palestinians were injured by Israeli occupation forces' gunfire on Wednesday evening during a raid on the city of Nablus, north of the occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said in a brief statement that its crews transported five people to the hospital, four of them from bullets, and the fifth from shrapnel that hit a 15-year-old child, during the Israeli army's raid on the city of Nablus.

For its part, the official Palestinian news agency, WAFA, reported that the number of injured had risen to eight, explaining that "seven of them, including three children, were hit by live bullets."

The agency added that among the injured were "five people with injuries to the lower extremities, one to the shoulder area, another to the waist, and a child with shrapnel injuries. They were transferred to the city's hospitals."

"An Israeli special force infiltrated the city's Al-Rahebat Street and surrounded a house there, followed by a large number of jeeps (military vehicles) storming in," the agency continued. The agency reported that the Israeli army fired sound bombs and tear gas at Palestinians in the Shuhada Roundabout area in the city center. It noted that a young man was arrested and his vehicle seized before withdrawing from the city.

Eyewitnesses told Anadolu Agency that the Israeli raids targeted the Nablus Municipality Fire Department headquarters and the headquarters of the General Federation of Palestinian Trade Unions, where a number of Palestinians were detained and subjected to field investigations.

Activists on social media posted photos of the vandalism to the fire department building as a result of the raid.

In parallel with the genocide in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army and settlers in the West Bank killed at least 1,052 Palestinians, injured approximately 10,300, and arrested more than 20,000, including 1,600 children.
