Basketball player Yesaya Saudale has bid farewell to Pelita Jaya Jakarta, after four years with the club, which last won the Indonesian Basketball League (IBL) in 2024.
He made the announcement via a farewell video uploaded to the club's Instagram social media account on Tuesday.
"Guys, thank you for supporting me for four years. I just want to say thank you to the fans, managers, sponsors, players, and friends," Yesaya said in the video.
The guard also expressed his gratitude to all parties who had been part of his journey with the capital team, including the coaching staff.
"I just want to say thank you to everyone for the past four years. I hope you (players, coaches, and officials) have enjoyed your time together at Pelita Jaya, and I'll see you again," said the player who is known for his number 3 jersey.
The farewell post marked the end of Yesaya's association with Pelita Jaya, which is a historic club and full of star players.
During his time with the team, the 1999-born player was known as one of the local guards who made a significant contribution in maintaining the game's rhythm and became a mainstay in player rotation.
Pelita Jaya itself is one of the most successful clubs in the IBL and has a strong reputation for developing young players.
Yesaya's departure marks a significant change in the squad for next season, given his vital role in the team's second line.
During his time at the club, which is based at the Soemantri Broedjonegoro Sports Hall, the point guard served as a backup to the team's main local guards , Andakara Prastawa and Agassi Yeshe Goantara. He also helped the team win the IBL title in 2024 and a runner-up finish a year later.
While there has been no official word on Yesaya's next steps, several fans in the comments section of the club's post expressed their gratitude and hopes that the player will continue his career at the highest level.
Meanwhile, the basketball player was widely rumored to be joining Tangerang Hawks Basketball for the 2026 IBL. However, as of Tuesday afternoon there had been no announcement from the Tangerang, Banten-based club regarding Yesaya's status.
