According to sports journalist Ahmed Al-Ajlan, negotiations are progressing positively, and if a final agreement is reached, Hughes will begin his duties with Al-Hilal next summer, while some members of his team will begin preparations to work before that date in preparation for the new season.
Hughes currently holds the same position at Liverpool FC, where he is a well-known name in European football management due to his extensive experience in talent discovery and organizing technical and administrative work within clubs.
The sources also indicated that Al-Hilal had put forward the name of another Scot, Paul Winstanley, who currently works at Chelsea and previously worked at Brighton, as an alternative option in case negotiations with Hughes are not completed.
