Spanish national team coach Luis de la Fuente has urged his team to remain humble despite setting a new national record of 30 consecutive matches without defeat.
Spain is in excellent form and is considered one of the main favorites to win the 2026 World Cup.
"Success means having the opportunity to fight for victory. The line between winning and losing is very thin," De la Fuente was quoted as saying by The Straits Times on Monday.
"Previously, the focus of football was on other teams, but now Spain is among the favorites," he said.
Last weekend's 4-0 win over Georgia saw La Roja surpass the 29-match unbeaten run set by Vicente del Bosque's golden generation from 2010–2013.
This run of results also continued Spain's remarkable campaign at Euro 2024, when they won all seven matches and secured their fourth European Championship in Germany.
In the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers, Spain appeared dominant, sweeping all five Group E matches, while scoring 19 goals, keeping a clean sheet, and collecting 15 points.
