Demolition of homes and sporadic shelling: Continued Israeli violations of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip

Eyewitnesses reported that during the past hours, the occupation forces intensified their demolition of residential buildings in the eastern areas of Gaza and Khan Yunis, in addition to the northern edges of the Strip, in areas that are supposed to be under the control of the army according to the ceasefire arrangements.

Witnesses explained that the army also opened fire towards the east of Al-Bureij camp in the central Gaza Strip, and the east of Jabalia camp in the north, while the early hours of the day witnessed new bombings in areas controlled by the occupation in the central Gaza Strip.

According to residents, a massive explosion was heard east of al-Bureij refugee camp, caused by a demolition operation carried out by Israeli forces. This coincided with heavy tank fire in the Jorat al-Lut and Ma'an areas east of Khan Younis. Israeli forces also shelled the eastern outskirts of Khan Younis on Friday morning.

At the same time, Nasser Medical Hospital announced that the Israeli army had killed a Palestinian in the eastern Khan Younis area, which is one of the areas where residents were resettled according to the first phase of the ceasefire agreement.

According to local sources, the occupation forces carried out a "large-scale demolition operation" east of Gaza City on Thursday-Friday night, accompanied by heavy gunfire from Israeli positions south of Khan Younis.

The ceasefire, which ended the aggression against Gaza, halted a series of attacks that resulted in the deaths of more than 69,000 Palestinians and injuries to over 170,000, the majority of whom were children and women. The United Nations estimated the cost of rebuilding the Gaza Strip at approximately $70 billion.
