Media outlets recently reported that a 22-year-old internet gaming enthusiast suffered leg failure and pancreatic necrosis as a result of his continuous consumption of energy drinks.
In this regard, Dr. Alexey Richeton said:
"The development of pancreatic necrosis occurs in cases of misuse of unhealthy products. This is often associated with alcohol, but energy drinks, with their complex chemical composition, can also cause tissue death. Therefore, what happened to this young man is to be expected."
Dr. Richetton pointed out that the pancreas is highly sensitive to substances absorbed in the intestines, particularly in the large intestine, where fluids are absorbed. He added,
"It's not surprising that the pancreas, which had been subjected to such attacks repeatedly, eventually succumbed."
He explained that energy drinks cannot be considered food in the traditional sense; they are chemical products made up of numerous artificial ingredients designed to artificially stimulate the body.
He said, "Yes, they can increase energy in the short term, but this comes at the cost of blatantly interfering with natural processes and depleting the body's internal reserves."
