Everton manager David Moyes confirmed that the Premier League authorities have rejected the appeal against midfielder Idrissa Gueye's red card, resulting in a three-match suspension for the player.
Gueye was sent off in the 13th minute of Everton's 1-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford for slapping his teammate Michael Keane.
"We have appealed and it was rejected. We haven't been given an official reason for the rejection, but we appealed immediately after the incident," Moyes said, as quoted on Everton's official website.
Due to the rejection of the appeal, the 36-year-old Senegalese international will miss the home match against Newcastle United away against Bournemouth (3/12), and the home match against Nottingham Forest (6/12).
