The forum will be a key player in determining the direction of global anti-doping policy, including for Indonesia, which was previously sanctioned twice for non-compliance.
The Chairman of the Indonesian Anti-Doping Organization (IADO), Gatot Sulistiantoro Dewa Broto, said the conference was not just a regular meeting, but a strategic space that determines Indonesia's position on the international compliance map.
"This conference will determine the future of athletes and the honor of national sports. After being sanctioned twice, we must ensure Indonesia fully complies so that the Red and White flag will always fly high," Gatot said when contacted by ANTARA in Jakarta on Sunday.
According to Gatot, Indonesia is currently at a crucial point. Although it has been released from WADA sanctions, various doping violations at the national level, including the record number of cases at the 2024 National Games in Aceh and North Sumatra, are a strong warning that must not be ignored.
"We don't want national-level doping cases to set a bad precedent. It's time to show that Indonesia is serious, not just on paper but in practice," he said.
