Indonesian surfers hunt for points to qualify for the Challenger Series

Indonesian surfers hunt for points to qualify for the Challenger Series  Indonesian surfers are hunting for points to qualify for the World Surf League Challenger Series after the 2025 Manokwari Pro Qualifying Series.

Three Indonesian surfers currently occupy second, third, and fourth place in the Qualifying Series Asia standings: Dylan Wilcoxen, Bronson Meydi, and Ketut Agus, respectively. Meanwhile, I Made Ariyana, the Manokwari Pro champion, currently sits in ninth place.

"The Challenger Series is the step before entering the Championship Tour. Now we have to maintain our ranking so these three athletes can compete in the remaining Qualifying Series matches and stay in the Top 5," said Indonesian national surfing team head coach Arya Subyakto to ANTARA by phone on Sunday.

Arya explained that only the Top 5 Qualifying Series teams from the 2025 season, which will end in February 2026, will be able to "move up" to the higher WSL league level, namely the Challenger Series.
