Komdigi writes to 25 PSEs that have not registered

The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi), through the Directorate General of Digital Space Supervision, has again written to 25 Private Electronic System Providers (PSE) in Indonesia for not having reported their data.

"PSE registration is not merely administrative, but also a crucial instrument for ensuring Indonesia's digital sovereignty and protecting the public within a healthy and responsible digital ecosystem," said Alexander Sabar, Director General of Digital Space Supervision at Komdigi, in an official statement on Tuesday.

According to him, this activity has been regulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Communication and Informatics Number 5 of 2020 concerning Private Electronic System Organizers (PM Kominfo 5/2020).

In fact, Article 2 and Article 4 of the regulation expressly require every Private Sector PSE (both domestic and foreign) to always register their electronic systems before they start operating.

He added that the socialization of this policy had actually been carried out long before this regulation was issued, but the enforcement process was carried out in stages for PSEs that remained negligent.

"If you still don't register after the notification is sent, administrative sanctions, including termination of access, may be applied in accordance with applicable regulations," Alexander continued.
