In detail, two Palestinians, including a child, were killed on Monday in an Israeli bombing of the town of Abasan in the southern Gaza Strip, within the areas under the control of the occupation army according to the ceasefire agreement in effect since October 10.
Civil defense spokesman in Gaza, Mahmoud Basal, reported that two Palestinians, including a child, were killed in an Israeli bombing that targeted the Ramida area east of Khan Younis city, a fact confirmed by a medical source to Anadolu.
Earlier today, the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced that the death toll from the genocide that Israel began on October 8, 2023, has risen to 69,179 Palestinian martyrs and 170,693 wounded.
The ministry said in its daily statistical report that hospitals in the sector received "3 martyrs during the past 24 hours, including one new one, a second who died as a result of his injury, and a third who was pulled from under the rubble, in addition to 3 injured people."
In this context, the ministry said that since October 11, Israel has killed 242 Palestinians and injured 622 others, in violation of the agreement, and noted that the toll of Israeli genocide in Gaza has risen to 69,179 martyrs and 170,693 wounded.
15 bodies received
The ministry also announced the receipt of the bodies of 15 Palestinians released by Israel, bringing the total number of bodies received under the first phase of the ceasefire agreement to 315.
The ministry said in a statement that it had received "15 bodies of martyrs released today (Monday) by the Israeli occupation and through the Red Cross," and added: "This brings the total number of bodies of martyrs received to 315."
In this context, the ministry said that as of Monday, "91 bodies out of 315 released bodies have been identified," and explained that the number of unidentified bodies that were buried after it became impossible to identify them reached 182, after 38 bodies were buried in the cemetery of the unknown in the middle of the sector earlier on Monday.
8 Palestinians daily
For its part, the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor said on Monday that Israel continues its genocide in the Gaza Strip despite the ceasefire agreement between Tel Aviv and Hamas, killing an average of 8 Palestinians daily.
The Geneva-based human rights organization added in a statement that Israel "continues to impose deadly living conditions on two million Palestinians, while denying them the opportunity to recover from the effects of the humanitarian catastrophe that has been ongoing for more than 25 months, amid international silence and inability to protect and do them justice."
The Observatory reported that since the agreement came into effect on October 10, it has documented "the continued deliberate killings carried out by the occupation army against Palestinians," and explained that the Israeli occupation army kills an average of 8 Palestinians daily and injures more than 20 others, while the comprehensive siege imposed on the sector continues.
The human rights observatory indicated that this is accompanied by "a policy of deliberate starvation and deprivation of the population of means of survival, prevention of reconstruction, restriction of freedom of movement, denial of treatment to the wounded and sick, and deliberate obstruction of the entry of humanitarian aid."
Netanyahu meets with Kushner
In a related context, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is meeting with US envoy Jared Kushner, and on their agenda is the issue of continuing the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
The official Israeli Broadcasting Corporation said on Monday: "Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's meeting with US President's son-in-law Jared Kushner has begun at the Prime Minister's office in West Jerusalem."
Kushner played a pivotal role, along with US Middle East envoy Steve Wittkopf, in reaching an agreement to implement US President Donald Trump’s plan for Gaza.
Israel refuses to allow the entry of heavy machinery and equipment to lift tons of rubble to retrieve the bodies of Palestinians buried beneath it, while it is rushing to retrieve the bodies of its remaining prisoners in Gaza, where it has allowed the entry of limited equipment to accomplish the task.
According to the Government Media Office, Israel committed violations of the humanitarian protocol of the ceasefire agreement, including preventing the entry of "hundreds of heavy vehicles" to retrieve the bodies of Palestinians from under the rubble.
The office estimates that there are approximately 9,500 missing Palestinians, either under the rubble or whose fate remains unknown, as a result of the Israeli genocide.
In addition to the victims, the two-year-long war of extermination waged by Israel with American support caused destruction to 90% of the civilian infrastructure in the sector, with initial losses reaching
$70 billion.
