PBPI Deputy Chairman says padel is starting to achieve success for Indonesia

Deputy Chairman I of the Indonesian Padel Association (PBPI), Mochtar Sarman, stated that padel is not only increasingly popular among the public but is also starting to achieve international success that can make the nation and state proud.

He cited the achievement of the Indonesian women's national padel team, which secured third place in the 2025 FIP Asia Cup held in Doha, Qatar, at the end of last October.

"This is proof that padel is not a seasonal sport or just for the masses, but can also bring achievements to the nation and state," said Mochtar at the opening of the Indonesia Sport Facility Expo (Isfex) 2025 sports industry exhibition at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City, Tangerang Regency, Banten, on Thursday.

According to him, this achievement marks a new milestone for the sport because the Red and White squad was able to reach the semifinals and finish the tournament in third place.

This success, he continued, demonstrates the rapid development of padel in Indonesia. He believes that with a better coaching system, adequate facilities, and professional management, Indonesia can compete with other countries in this rapidly growing sport.
