Police dismantle PKJR in Curup-Lubuklinggau suspected of extortion  The Rejang Lebong Police Resort (Polres), Bengkulu, dismantled a number of Highway Security Posts or PKJR on the Curup-Lubuklinggau Crossroad, South Sumatra, which were deemed to be a means of illegal levies (pungli).


Head of Public Relations of the Rejang Lebong Police, AKP Sinar Simanjuntak, in his written statement in Rejang Lebong, Friday, said that the enforcement and at the same time socialization of the prohibition of extortion to all PKJR in the area.


"The regulation of PKJR posts and outreach to stop illegal levies or extortion along the Curup-Lubuklinggau crossroads within the jurisdiction of the Padang Ulak Tanding Police and Sindang Kelingi Police was led by the Head of Operations of the Rejang Lebong Police, AKP George Rudiyanto," he said.


He explained that the PKJR posts that were being regulated were located on the Curup-Lubuklinggau Crossroad in the Sindang Kelingi and Padang Ulak Tanding (PUT) Districts.




The three locations targeted for this cleanup operation are the PKJR Post in Gardu Hamlet, Kepala Curup Village, Binduriang District, the PKJR Post in Taba Padang Village, Binduriang District, and the PKJR Post in Taktoi Village, PUT District.


In this operation, a joint team from the Rejang Lebong Police and the Rejang Lebong Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) closed and dismantled the PKJR post in Tanjung Aur Village and issued an appeal to residents within the jurisdiction of the Sindang Kelingi Police to no longer open the post in question.


Furthermore, the regulation and dismantling of PKJR posts was also carried out in Taktoi Village, PUT District.


The last was the regulation and dismantling of the PKJR post in Taba Padang Village, as well as the PKJR post in Dusun Gardu Village in Binduriang District.


"We are advised that people who build PKJR posts and make illegal levies immediately disperse and dismantle PKJR posts independently. The existence of these PKJR posts can disrupt traffic flow," he explained.




He emphasized that if there are landslides or damaged roads along the Curup-Lubuklinggau Crossroad that require assistance in regulating traffic flow, it is sufficient to simply put up warning signs or signs, refrain from illegal levies and set up a PKJR post.
