Members of the House of Representatives (DPR) appreciate the BNN's courage in dismantling a drug village in Jakarta.  Member of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Rudianto Lallo, expressed his appreciation for the National Narcotics Agency's (BNN) decisive action in dismantling drug-prone villages in the Jakarta area and its surroundings.

According to him, the BNN's boldness in penetrating previously difficult-to-reach areas, such as Kampung Bahari and Kampung Ambon, represents a significant breakthrough in drug eradication efforts. He believes the BNN's recent actions demonstrate a significant shift in law enforcement practices.

"This is a major step that has not been easy to achieve over the years," Rudianto said in a written statement received in Jakarta on Friday.

In addition, he also highlighted the importance of tightening drug distribution channels entering Jakarta.

He emphasized that air routes remain one of the biggest potential routes for narcotics smuggling and need to be monitored more closely.

To that end, he requested stronger cooperation between the BNN, the police, and airport authorities to close off the syndicate's room for movement.

"Law enforcement must not put pressure on users, who are actually victims. Action must be stepped up against couriers, transportation routes, and distribution syndicates," he said.

He also paid special attention to night entertainment venues which have long been considered as one of the points for the spread of drugs.

According to him, supervision of these locations needs to be strengthened periodically and in an integrated manner.

He suspects that only a few types of drugs are circulating massively in night entertainment venues due to weak supervision.

"Everyone knows these places are gateways for the circulation of various types of drugs. If supervision is maximized, the rate of abuse can be reduced," he said.

He also hopes that collaboration between the BNN, Polda Metro Jaya, and all law enforcement agencies can be strengthened to maximize drug handling in Jakarta.

He emphasized that eradicating drugs requires a combination of firmness, strict supervision, and an approach that does not criminalize victims of drug abuse.

"The focus must be on the syndicates and their channels. If they are shut down, drug distribution can be significantly reduced," he said.
